In the biblical witness,
for giveness is never shallow. It is not an easy escape from responsibility,
nor a sentimental attempt to forget pain. Forgiveness is God’s way of restor
ing what sin has damaged: the relationship between humanity and God, the
relationship between one person and another, and the wounded places within the
human heart.

I have written this work with one very personal hope. One
day, espe cially for my child who may not yet fully understand these matters,
this book may become a doorway into the meaning of forgiveness. I hope that
when the time comes, these pages will help him see that forgiveness is not
weakness, not denial, and not the cheap removal of consequences. Forgiveness is
the grace of God that opens the way home, teaches the heart to return, and
forms a life that is no longer ruled by bitterness, guilt, or revenge.

At the same time, this book is also offered for the benefit
of the church. The church cannot speak faithfully about grace while ignoring
repentance, justice, restoration, and shalom. A community that has re ceived
forgiveness from Godmustalsolearn howtobecomeacommunity of truth, mercy,
responsibility, and healing. My prayer is that this book mayserve pastors,
teachers, students, leaders, and believers who desire to understand forgiveness
not merely as a doctrine to be explained, but as a way of life to be embodied
before God and others.

Maythisworkhelpthereaderreturn to the heart of Scripture:
the holy i Godwhodoesnotignoresin, yet refuses to let sin have the final word;
the God who judges truthfully, forgives mercifully, and restores life toward
the fullness of shalom.

Penulis : Ferry Hermawan Winoto, Ph.D.
Penerbit : Sehati
Cetakan : Pertama, 2026
ISBN :
Tebal : xiv + 221 halaman
Bahasa : Indonesia
Ukuran : 13,5 x 23 cm

Sinopsis This book was written from a deep pastoral and theological concern: that forgiveness should not remain a beautiful word spoken in church, but be come a truth understood, received, and lived.
